White receives Advancement of Justice Award

NJC_ATJ-12_2014The National Judicial College (NJC) presented Professor Penny White with its Advancement of Justice Award, following an event hosted by the National Judicial College, the Tennessee Supreme Court, and the Tennessee Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission.

The event, “Access to Justice: Tearing Down the Barriers,” held at the Baker Donelson Special Events Center in Nashville, Tennessee, featured a panel discussion which included justices Connie Clark and Janice Holder, Tennessee Supreme Court; Chad Schmucker, president of the National Judicial College; and Buck Lewis, chair of Tennessee’s Access to Justice Commission.

White spoke about the methodologies used by NJC to prepare judges to adjudicate matters involving self-represented litigants professionally. NJC also honored the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Access to Justice Committee with awards.
